Perhaps most intriguing is "Synth" the robot guardian of Ez whose fate (without giving away spoilers) fortifies Ez's journey and trajectory. Their relationship is wonderfully constructed, and shows the depth of writing. The script has plenty of themes of identity, as our protagonist, Ez, is trying to reconstruct himself throughout his quest for a true "home". The script is a genre-bender...spectacle. The big budget film also has lavish set pieces throughout the story while keeping the character elements thick. Without question the writer's passion for the genre shines through, with influences from everyone from Ridley Scott to Robert Heinlein."
